This whole website is just too awesome. Specifically on the issue discussed here, I think its fair to say similar derision is experienced any time someone chooses to exist even in the slightest way outside of the rigid definitions of some culture they’re associated with.

Goodman and Eshun, I think, are critical of the idea of a ‘post-economic music.’ They are extremely critical of futurology, preferring futurisms, which for them are not corporate mechanisms of capture but ways to imagine possibilities.

First, I’m writing a book on Andrea Hairston’s sf, and I don’t see any mention here. Would you like me to send my list of her main works, fiction and criticism? Second, I’m looking for some artwork or photograph related to her themes to use as the front cover for the book. It’s an academic book, so the artist/photographer would only receive acknowledgment and a copy of the book. I don’t know how to pass this request on otherwise. Thanks.
