The fate of science fiction
I just ran across this interesting essay by Jetse de Vries, titled “Should SF Die?” It dates back to December, 2009, when there was a lot of discussion among writers and fans about problems in sci-fi, including ethnocentrism and racism. de Vries provides a number of good links in his piece, and gives his take on the argument, including providing an alternative future for sci-fi, in which it overcomes its majority whiteness. Definitely worth a read.
